This blog is dedicated to my workmates in MAPLE who were
with me during this epic trip. Thank you also to Estimo Family for a warm welcome during our stay in this beautiful
island. Destinations and Breakdown of Expenses are found below :)
We preferred the tourist seats of the boat because we want
to get comfortable as we doze off our 2-hour travel period.
What a sight!
Camotes is definitely an island to get sun and sand-craving.
We rented out a multicab for our transportation.
Our driver, Kuya Eduardo, was very friendly and accommodating. We told him the
places we want to visit so he can arrange what routes to take first and he even
gave us a destination without a travel charge!
What’s so unique about our ride? It has a karaoke inside!
From one destination to another destination, there was never a time wasted
because we got to sing our hearts out anytime.
First Stop: Mangodlong Rock Resort
The place was very peaceful, maybe because it was still
early. They have a very wide space of sands and pebbles. Unfortunately, it was a
low tide and the beach was far to have a morning swim so all we did was roam
the place and take pictures of the different sights.
They have a very large octopus with tentacle-slides for
those people who love to slide all the way to the beach. Just be vigilant for
rocks J
Second Stop: Santiago
White Beach
This is the Public Beach of Santiago. But because it was a
low-tide, the beach was really far this time. You have to walk like 100 - 200
LARGE steps to reach the water. I was getting bored and badly in need of a swim
so we head to Santiago Bay Resort thru their beach entrance.
Third Stop: Santiago
Bay Garden & Resort
We paid for our pool usage and made some tour around the
place. It was really a nature-loving place. The ambiance was great and serene.
At that time, we had the pool by ourselves so we were having the
exclusive-feels. I swam my heart out. Totally digging this place for my next
visit.
When I had enough swim, and my workmates were
already contented, we head back to our multicab to eat our lunch. Our host and
co-workmate, Ms. Maveb Estimo, was the one who prepared and cooked our food.
Thanks Miss!
Fourth Stop: Paraiso Cave
The first cave we visit on our Camotes tour! Honestly, I am
a scaredy-cat when I visit caves. I always imagine bats and ghosts lurking
inside these dark and mysterious stones. But when I saw the water in these
caves, woosh! All those panicky-feeling were lost and replaced by a giddy-ish
emotion. But before jumping to the water, murmur a silent prayer to cast
spirits away (coz I got some superstitious grandparents). The waters all cold
like ice. We didn’t stay long in the place because of its super-icy water.
Fifth Stop: Lake
Danao
What I saw first when we arrived this place are the kayaks
and I have that strong urge to rent one immediately but sadly, I was
overpowered by my wild imaginations (I heard there are crocodiles in the area
but they are secured in a cage, but somehow I imagine their babies in the lake
and also some anacondas, I know, lame imagination, can’t help it)
We opt to travel in group and Kuya Guide recommended a
rubber boat for us because it’s the safest choice among all available rides.
Please, please do wear life jackets. Safety is vital.
After
a struggling 30-minute paddle, we head back to the little port and made some
tour around the place, we went to see the crocodiles, some turtles and three
monkeys J
they even have a pool in this place J
totally astounding!
Sixth Stop: Buho Rock
This was Kuya Eduardo’s pick for our destination
with no travel charge! This was the place where Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel
Padilla shoot their cliff jumping for their movie, “Can’t help Falling in
Love”. I didn’t do much in this place because I was tired from all the
excitement the day had brought me. I was just sight-seeing some “Oppas” because
they were all over the place!
Seventh Stop: Timubo
Cave
So this cave already looks spooky in the outside, how much
more the inside? They have some precautions provided in the right side before
entering the cave. Even in the opening, you can already feel that there is
small amount of oxygen inside so conserve your breathing guys J
You have to walk 75 meters from the entrance to the waters.
When it is low tide, the waters in the cave will be at 5 ft., if it’s on
high-tide, the water could reach 6 ft. You should be extra careful when
entering the cave, again, murmur a silent prayer. Be vigilant of stalactites
over your head, those could really hurt.
The water here is not that cold so you get to enjoy without
suffering from hypothermia.
Eight Stop: Baywalk
It’s almost night when we reach the place where we were
staying. We took our baths and settle down for a few minutes before we proceed
to our last destination of the day, the Baywalk, it’s like a tiny plaza of San
Francisco. We were famished with all those adventures and places we have gone
to so we chose to have our dinner in Baywalk.
There
was a band playing and loud karaoke everywhere. Overall, the place was very
lively. There are barbeque stands in the place and foods were very cheap :)
Day 2
Ninth Stop: Tulang
Diot
How to start an awesome day? Go visit this islet.
You have to ride a motor banca going to this amazing islet. Its just a 5-minute
travel. When you arrive there, you will be captivated with the scenery that you
will likely embrace. You have to pay 5.00 for the environmental fee. No other
words can describe how this islet brought me happiness that morning. We stayed
longer here because this was the only itinerary for our Day 2
We went to the seaport at 12:00 pm, earlier than expected, because
there might be a lot of people in the seaport to travel back to the city. When
we arrived, there was already a long line but moving at least. We secure some
seats and relax as we await our journey back to reality.
Thanks for visiting! For any questions and suggestions for accomodations and transportation, feel free to leave a comment :) Ciao.
